Hi! I’m Judith Watson, the founder of and lead podiatrist at Feet First, Newry.
Here is a little about me and how Feet First came to be!
I trained as a student nurse but set upon a different career path. I trained in Birmingham as a Foot Health Practitioner and graduated in 2014. I initially set out doing home visits as I could see a huge need for foot healthcare for those with reduced mobility. I became so busy that I established Feet First.
I had always planned to return to university to study podiatry but I also wanted to support my son with his schooling as education is important to me.
I started my podiatry degree in 2019 and graduated with first-class honours in July 2022. Being a Podiatrist, I am passionate about educating my patients on their foot health and how treating foot conditions can vastly improve their quality of life.
I love learning and over the past few months, I have trained in Verruca needling and Dermatoscopy which is examining skin lesions and diseases such as melanoma (patients can then be referred to GP or dermatology). I am currently studying clinical biomechanics and musculoskeletal conditions.
My goal is to develop my business and offer specialist services in collaboration with other specialist podiatrists in a variety of fields such as Diagnostic Ultrasound, Joint injections and Gait analysis. Next year, I plan to train in skin surgery. I love being busy!
