Today, we’re sharing an ultrasound scan from a Feet First patient who came to us with severe calf pain, worried it might be a clot. After a trip to A&E, a clot was ruled out, but the pain persisted. Our patient’s anxiety was palpable, and rightly so!
The scan revealed a tear in the gastrocnemius muscle, known as intrasubstance tear, a common culprit for calf discomfort. What a relief it was to identify the issue! Based on this diagnosis, we immediately devised a personalised treatment strategy.
Our plan includes a stretching regime to promote healing and enhance flexibility. We also added a slight heel raise inside the shoe to alleviate strain, allowing the muscle to recover more effectively.
It’s always a pleasure putting our patients’ minds at ease with precise diagnoses and clear treatment plans. At Feet First, we’re committed to ensuring your feet (and everything connected to them!) are in the best possible condition. Keep stepping forward with confidence!
